Sébastien Bertolini, an aeronautical mechanic with a passion for construction, took over Aéroservices Guépard in 2020, in collaboration with his partner Harry Austin, an instructor and fervent admirer of ULMs of all classes. Founded in 1992 in Toulonjac, the company uses exclusively French materials and has built over 270 microlights to date.
How did you discover Evoskil ?
During a STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) competition, I was lucky enough to meet the founder ofEvoskil , thanks to members of the French ultralight federation (FFPLUM).
What initially drew you to Evoskil products?
Our ambition was to design a seaplane ultralight capable of operating in a marine environment. We're already working with a local company for the aircraft's floats. However, corrosion is a major issue, especially with conventional aluminum rims that rust easily. Carbon rims fromEvoskil are perfect for this application, hence our initial choice.
What wheel models did you use previously?
We've traditionally relied on Aeroparts products, especially the aluminum wheels. We continue to use this model, but now our customers have more options!
Can you tell us about your collaboration with Evoskil ?
The Evoskil rims met our expectations so well for our ultralight seaplane that we decided to offer them for most of our aircraft. Customers can choose between classic wheels and these new Evoskil wheels. What's more, we've become a reseller of Evoskil products, to enable our customers to benefit from their performance.
"The Evoskil rims met our expectations, so much so that we decided to offer them for most of our appliances."
Sébastien Bertolini
What types of microlight do you manufacture that can be fitted with Evoskil rims?
We produce Superguépard ultralights. We have the Superguépard Club sold mainly to clubs and individuals in France, and the Superguépard Tout Terrainideal for take-offs and landings on very short runways, like the seaplane ULM.
What do you think are the major advantages of Evoskil wheels?
Weight and corrosion resistance are crucial for seaplanes. For other aircraft, lightness, performance and technical features are paramount. The design of the wheels makes them easy to repair, assemble and disassemble - an undeniable plus for our customers. What's more, the customer experience has been exceptional, thanks toEvoskil 's responsiveness and ability to meet our specific needs.
